Sri Vaidhya Veeraraghava Swamy Temple at Thiruvallur is one of the 108 Sri Vaishnavaite Thiruthalams. The sthala is also the 21st Thiruthalam in Thondainadu, and is praised in verses by two of the twelve Alvars - Thirumangai Alvar and Thirumzhisai Alvar which are referred to as Divya Prabandham. Swamy Sri Desikan has also praised the deity in his Kingruhesa Stuthi.
Tiruvallur is one of the Prarthana sthalams like Tirupati, Oppiliappan Koil and Gunasekaram.Sri Ramalinga Swamigal (Vallalar) has composed five verses in Tamil in praise of Lord Sri Veeraraghavan, after having been relieved of acute stomach ache due to His grace. Here Moolavar Sri Veeraraghavan is majestically reclining on the Serpent- couch (Adisesha). The Goddess is known as Vasumathi Nachchiar and Kanakavalli Thayar (the daughter of King Dharmasena of Thiruvallur).
This temple is under the administration of Sri Ahobila Math, presently presided over by Srimad 46th Azhagiyasingar Srimate Srivan Sathakopa Sri Ranganatha Yatheentra Mahadesikan, as Hereditary Trustee.
